Following the Mozziah Day 237 Tuesday May 8th 2012

I have nothing much to say today, although a comment from 'HeatherCat' on the MorrisseysWorld blog, may hold the answer to the 'missed sign of Seoul'(see my blog of yesterday). Heather wrote: "During the pause in Speedway at the Seoul concert, Morrissey sang the opening lines of the Don McLean song 'Vincent.' Does anyone else think the lyrics of this beautiful song seem relevant to MorrisseysWorld, especially these lines: They would not listen, they did not know how, perhaps they'll listen now. A silver thorn on a bloody rose lie crushed and broken on the virgin snow. They would not listen, they're not listening still, perhaps they never will." By jove, I think Heather's got it!

MorrisseysWorld remains dormant, with the twitter account now having 8,105 followers, whilst the blog hit count is at 256,074, up 800 in the last 24 hours. Who ARE all these people visiting MorrisseysWorld, and if so many are reading it on a daily basis, why are so few believing it's Morrissey?

One person who HAS come out publicly to say that they believe MW is Morrissey, is the former mayoress of Camden, Amy Lame (@AmyLane), who is currently performing her brand new play/public birthday party called 'Unhappy Birthday', at the Camden People's Theatre in London, before it sets off around the country next week. I haven't seen the show, but it's getting great reviews. The concept seems to be that the audience are the invited guests to Amy's birthday party (paying guests though, obviously!), to which Morrissey is invited, but doesn't turn up. The show sees  Amy explaining what it is like to be a fan of Morrissey, whilst involving her audience with a game of pass the parcel, and getting them to sing karaoke etc. I hope the show continues to go well for Amy, it would be great if she incorporated the BLUE ROSE of MorrisseysWorld.

In this time of very low interest rates, anybody with savings is struggling to make any money, well I have some advice for them, INVEST IN MOZZER. The value of Morrissey's promo records is soaring, with a number of sales on ebay last week fetching excellent prices. Leading the way was the sale of the 7' promo of 'Hold On To Your Friends', which sold for £335, with the same seller also achieving £211 for 'Have-A-Go Merchant and £122 for a copy of 'Certain People I Know' (which is issued in a T-Rex style promo sleeve). Of course, investment in vinyl is no different to inveting in any commodity, you have to know what you are buying, and for all those who bought The Smiths 'Singles Box Set', it should be noted that an ebay sale last week achieved just £26 (£50 new). I still await a copy of the 'Glamorous Glue' promo to pop up on ebay, but the £204 that was achieved for the last one, now looks cheap.

Tomorrow, I shall report on today's concert in Singapore, and hopefully I'll also be able to answer the burning question, did 'MancLadMozFan' get his BLUE ROSE to Morrissey?

  2. Well spotted Heather! This is less of a discrete sign, more of a "waving with the fence post" as the German saying goes!

  3. Heathercat has spotted signs before and this observation of hers is very interesting. Congratulations and well done for being so perceptive !
I love the song ' Vincent ' and I remember my Dad driving me
all over the city to find a record shop which stocked the single as it had sold out everywhere ! We eventually tracked it down and I also love the B-side which was 'Castles In The Air. '
Any more signs Mr M for us to identify ??
