The little boy who has run onto the stage a couple of times at your concerts in New York, and who presented you with a Blue Rose at the Radio City Music Hall, is called Kyle. Kyle is eleven years old and from Long Island. I had the absolute pleasure to meet both Kyle and his father at your concert last week at Greenvale, and then met again with them both at the concert in Brooklyn. It is a breath of fresh air to find that an eleven year old has had the open mindedness to discover your music and appreciate it in the way that all we oldies do. While Kyle's counterparts are force fed Justin Blabber and One Dimension by record companies who have no interest in either talent or taste, Kyle has rejected such mind numbing atrocities, and has found the songs of the greatest living songwriter....YOU! I hope I'm not being too fawning, but it is true..... as you well know.
After your concert in Brooklyn, where Kyle once again ran on stage to embrace you and show his love, a number of absolutely vile and disgusting comments were placed on the Morrissey-Solo website, not only by anonymous trolls, but by regular users. 'I KNOW' that you know nothing about the internet, but usually in such cases, a moderator would remove such disgusting comments, but rather than do that in this case, the moderator, joined in with the abuse. An eleven year old boy, bullied by so called fans, just because he adores Morrissey? It can't be right. The world is an ugly place, but Morrissey's world is about like minded lovers of your work, so why these people think it is OK to abuse an eleven year old boy, I don't know.
The upshot of all the abuse from Solo, was that Kyle's dad decided at the very last minute, not to take his little boy to the show in Atlantic City, this was despite the fact that they had driven through the night from Brooklyn, and had spent over 200 dollars on staying at the House of Blues Hotel, as well of course as the money they spent on concert tickets, which were just thrown in the bin. Kyle's dad had read all the abuse on Solo, and was too frightened to take his son to see your concert. How heart breaking is that, but what a fantastic parent, to sacrifice seeing his idol, for the welfare of his boy. They got in the car and made the long trip back home to Long Island.
