Day 965 - I know it's gonna happen someday.... Number 1!

It has been revealed today by @LeeThommo that Morrissey's first three singles will be:

1. WORLD PEACE IS NONE OF YOUR BUSINESS (To be released 14/5)
2. ISTANBUL (21/05)
3. EARTH IS THE LONELIEST PLACE  (4/6) (Ed - this should of course be PLANET, NOT PLACE)

This obviously means that Morrissey will be NUMBER 1 in the UK Chart on his birthday with WORLD PEACE.

The only other thing to report today is that the band have been spotted rehearsing in LA..... which is a rare occurrence. Oh to be a fly on that wall.

And tomorrow..... let the show begin.

  1. None will probably be released in Australia, so the credit card will no doubt take a tripe hit soon.

  2. Bring on those singles. I can't wait to hear them.

Disappointed that Johnny Cash only made #38 & #40 but top chart.

  3. Hmm, who is that sharing a moment at the jukebox?

Can't wait for the new singles (last one should be 'Earth is the Loneliest PLANET'). Their releases, combined with the tour, are quite simply an overload of excitement - don't know if I'll be able to contain myself.

Rats, I'm surprised you didn't mention, for the record, the Mountjoy/snooker coincidence in connection with the Telegraph piece. When I first saw that article (before Jon mentioned it), I laughed at the Moz/snooker connection but I didn't remember that MW had mentioned Mountjoy (not knowing any snooker players, I wouldn't remember any names). Anyway, it's all too funny.

    1. Heather, I copied LeeThommo's tweet regarding the titles, but you are of course right, so I have added a note to it. I am saving the Mountjoy coincidence for tomorrow. I have today been exchanging tweets with Jonathan Lewd from The Telegraph, to see if I can get him to look into the whole MW phenomenon, but it has been a waste of time. Lewd is just like all the other useless journalists I have mentioned on this blog over the past 2 and a half years. NO intuition for a story. Journalists are the same everywhere.

  5. Another superb chart, Mr. Rat!! I'm delighted the wait is over and Our Moz will be back on tour once again. Hoping that roses (mainly Blue) will be delivered to Morrissey. I'm also joyful for all of the Morrissey fans who will be able to see him live!!

  6. Great chart! Good selection of songs and # of pictures. Looking forward to singles release and tour. Good luck to all with the blue roses at the concerts. BTW, Ratty, is that you in the leather jacket holding up the jukebox? You did say you'd be hanging around the T Arms. #BRS

    1. I've told Ratty before - we don't allow such public displays of affection in The Twitterdilly. He can do that sort of thing outside on the patio.Plus it leaves smudges all over the jukebox. It looks like he was giving Fifi a warm welcome back to The Arms.

    2. I'd be happy just to have his hair. Nothing else.

    3. Actually, it looks like he has a fur trimmed hat on or a bad wig. I do not think leather jackets come with hoods, or I'd say it could be one. Also, at first glance, it looks like whoever he is kissing has a deformed hand.
