Day 1350 - Will Never Be Official

On May 5th, the Morrissey Official Facebook page posted a video of Morrissey singing, Will Never Marry. The very next day a statement was issued on True-To-You saying, "There is no such thing as a Morrissey Official Facebook page. Morrissey has no connection to Facebook." The following week, Will Never Marry shot to Number 1 on The Twit Arms chart.

Today, on Morrissey's return to the stage for the first of his four sold out concerts at the Sydney Opera House, Morrissey sang Will Never Marry. I can only guess that the mention of the song by the fraudster who runs the Facebook page reminded Moz of how much he liked the song, after all, the Facebook page, which CONTINUES to publish accurate news about support artists etc, CANNOT have anything to do with Morrissey, because a TTY statement said so!

No Youtube footage has yet emerged of the first Sydney concert, but Will Never Marry was joined on the setlist by Ganglord, Crashing Bores, Mama, My Dearest Love and Now My Heart Is Full, along with eight songs from WPINOYB and other gems such as Suedehead, Paris, Stop Me, Speedway, What She Said, MIM and Sunday. I have no idea if anything was sung in the Speedway pause, but at some stage during the song, Gustavo took on the role of singer, Moz played tambourine whilst parked behind the keyboard, and BB played drums.

Now My Heart Is Full - which I can't wait to see footage of - was sung with PPP (Pier Paulo Pasolini) in New York as the stage backdrop.

  1. Incredible setlist in Sydney! If I get to hear even one of the newly added songs on the US tour, I'll be thrilled. Of course the addition of 'I'll Never Marry' is just a coincidence! Great chart too, Rats.

  2. Concert looked amazing. Lots of little tidbits for us. M is sporting a huge silver bauble round his neck. Boz and Gustavo have forgotten to remove their sleep easy snore strips (that one was spotted by Monsieur Orange). The flamenco dancer in the video clip is José Greco.

    1. In fact it wasn't just BB and Señor Gustavo, but the whole band looked a bit damaged with their nose lingerie last night...

  3. Wow, what a corker of a set list. Particularly pleased the see NMHIF & My Dearest Love has been added. Here's hoping for some good footage.
Speaking of which, I noticed something interesting from some Barcelona which I'd missed till now. I am slightly cautious because its easy to read too much into things. But I thought I would share - https://youtu.be/skcUYJiGPNQ On the night I saw M glance over to where I was standing with my rose (1.50), but missed the raised eyebrows afterwards. If you watch at 4.14, Moz is just a few feet away from me..... It just struck me as a bit random.

    Ever deluded EARS ;)

  6. GWO beat me to it. The boxer is Jerry "You Are The" Quarry. He was also known as "The Bellflower Bomber". He was known as a bleeder, as he cut quite easily. He sadly died at age 53 due to boxing related dementia. Some of my fave songs in Sidney...Ganglord...Will Never Marry...Mama.

  7. Packing for my trip to Sydney. Can't wait for Saturday night. Must remember the toothbrush. Will never marry (long version) has frequently left me in tears: My Dearest Love, too.

Will arrange for a blue rose to take although my tickets are for too far away from the front for delivery.

My WPINOYB tee was the first thing in the bag.
