Day 1377 - Ignored and avoided

I have spent the last week zig zagging across the UK visiting universities and watching cricket matches - I have hardly had time to draw breath, let alone take in the footage of the four Morrissey concerts that have taken place.

STAIRCASE AT BATH UNIVERSI...TAY

The only MorrisseysWorld/BRS related happening that I am aware of from the latest four concerts, is President Kyle's stage invasion in Philadelphia on Saturday, but he didn't invade with a blue rose - although he did apparently have a rose at the concert, which was ignored and avoided by Morrissey.

My twatter timeline shows me that Astra made a return to The Arms yesterday, having first stopped off at the dreadful FollowingThePessoas blog thing to leave some comments. The author of FTP has been getting very excited about some anonymous comments that have been left on his site, which he believes are from Morrissey; which is all rather ironic, because the FTP author has been stating for months that he doesn't believe that it is the real Morrissey that we deluded dreary dozen are interacting with - This FTP guy needs to make up his mind!

The fact that Astra has commented on the awful FTP blog (the parodies on there are utterly cringeworthy) makes me feel that perhaps some/all of the anonymous comments in question may actually be something to do with Morrissey, but as to why M would leave comment on such a pitiful site is beyond me.

Astra's visit to The Arms saw her play two songs; La Chasse by BB (Bardot not Boorer) and Apprends Le Moi by Françoise, and also post a picture:

Broken has also been in The Arms on a couple of occasions, posting semi-naked photos of the famous and not so famous - Bieber included, of course.

And finally, despite my very hectic week, I managed to find time to read Eleven Minutes by Paulo Coelho. It is without doubt one of the best books that I have ever read, and my thanks go to Fifi for leading me to it. I was surprised by the ending, as it was not what I had expected to happen, but I won't spoil it for anyone who plans to read it......hold on, WHY am I writing as though I still have an audience? - NOBODY reads this blog anymore! (Hit counts are down to pitiful levels - it's as though I no longer exist!)

Back to the cricket.

Day 1370 - Such a silly bug

The Morrissey tour continued on Saturday night in Atlanta, and it was another cracker. I haven't seen any footage that is relevant to MorrisseysWorld or the BRS, so I won't post the Youtube clips of the songs on here, but there was one rather amusing moment during the first encore song, First of the Gang To Die, where Morrissey noticed an insect (who we shall call Hector) in the middle of the stage. Moz sang to Hector the insect, before then sliding him onto a copy of the set list, and handing him over to Joseph Joannides, who presumably released him into the wilds of Atlanta.

I'm pretty sure that no BRS members are going to tonight's show in Durham, North Carolina, but I do believe that the BRS will be represented at one of the concerts later in the week, and an attempt WILL be made to hand Moz a blue rose on stage - the question is, will the attempt be successful, and if so, will Moz wear the rose? 'OO'

MORRISSEY WEARING THE BLUE ROSE - MAY 2014

In other news, Broken made a return to The Arms on Saturday, and asked, "MorrisseysWorld to return?" Seeing Broken appear, and his mention of MW, led me to ask him if I were dreaming, to which he replied, "Dreams comfort the comfortable and chide the poor." Broken then started laying into the likes of Eamonn Holmes and Hilary Clinton, whilst also posting pictures and videos of Bieber - it was just like the good old days! Broken also posted Go West by the Pet Shop Boys , King by Years & Years and A Change Of Heart by Bernard Butler.

I mentioned to Broken that I am really enjoying reading Eleven Minutes by Paulo Coelho (it really is one of the best books that I have ever read, and should be compulsory reading for all adolescents), and asked Broken if he had read it. He replied, "One should never read anything one is expected to have read". He was of course just being smart - of course he's read it!

Other Broken highlights included, "When life finally begins, you realise it's already over", "David Cameron continues the rewarmed Blairism and Euro-fawning", "Religion poisons love, strangles compassion and extends existence. Three good reasons to say no to religion" and "UKIP will rescue us from global mcdonnaenriqueIKEASjustinbankerPLC" !!

Broken signed off with, "God loves you. But I don't."

And finally Esther, and finally Cyril, the Twit Arms resident drunk (every bar needs one), Manc lad, asked Mademoiselle Fifi if she recommended that he visit Rio this autumn. He also pondered on whether he should wear speedos or shorts. Fifi replied, "Rio is a good choice Lad. I cannot say whether you should go for shorts or speedos but I think I know why you're asking." Hmm.

*Goes off singing* Manc's going to Rio, and he's dancing on the sand *Changes song* Hector was the first of the bugs to join the Moz band.... I'll get my coat!

Day 1368 - Oh so French

The new US tour is underway, Morrissey has made a nod to one of his own pessoas, OM has returned to FTM, Morrissey's novel is in the hands of the publishers, myself & Marcus the Greek have made friends again, and the naysayers continue to naysay - Round, rhythm goes round, Round, round, rhythm of MorrisseysWorld goes round!

The roller coaster ride that is MorrisseysWorld continues, and Morrissey's very first words of his new US tour, that opened in New Orleans on Thursday, were, "Monsieur, Madame, Mademoiselle - Bonsoir!". These words are a direct nod to Morrissey's own pessoa, Mademoiselle Fifi, and to my blog entry of Wednesday, in which I explained how Mademoiselle Fifi had revealed to us the influence of some of the lyrics to the song, Neal Cassady Drops Dead.

"MONSIEUR, MADAME, MADEMOISELLE - BONSOIR!" - STAGE ENTRANCE & SUEDEHEAD IN NEW ORLEANS

Whilst on the subject of my last blog entry, Jon the Con (another Moz pessoa?) left comment, saying, "You might remember broken's old twitter id had a gay Brazilian admirer... who loved Coelho... and original broken followed him...jigsaw...unprovable...genius." All we need now is for Morrissey to mention at some stage that he enjoys the work of Coelho, although it would, of course, mean NOTHING! And whilst on the subject of Coelho, the more I read about him, the more similarities I see between him and Morrissey, and what is more, Coelho even took to twitter last year to defend Justin Bieber. Jigsaw, jigsaw, jigsaw.

Jon the Con wasn't the only one to leave comment on my last blog entry, we also had this left at 8.25am this morning (3.25am in Atlanta, Georgia):

As Nicki French once said, "Once upon a time I was falling in love, now I'm only falling apart."

I do hope Our Mozzer isn't really falling apart!

This isn't the first time that Our Mozzer has mentioned Nicki French. He previously mentioned her in the MorrisseysWorld chatroom in November 2012, as documented on Day 433 of FTM. Rather coincidentally; or maybe NOT so coincidentally if OM has particularly mentioned Ms French knowing that I would research previous mentions of her by him, my FTM entry of Day 433 was all about the possibility of a Morrissey novel. The reason that I had written a blog entry about a possible Morrissey novel, was because Our Mozzer had tweeted on Saturday November 17th 2012 to say, "I am writing a novel" - as documented on Day 432 of FTM, which also mentions that this is exactly the same time that OM stopped writing the MorrisseysWorld blog! I wonder if anyone realises just how important FTM is as a historical document? Anyway, where was I? Oh yes, the novel! That OM tweet from November 17th 2012 was the first mention ANYWHERE of a Morrissey novel, and in my blog entry of Day 433, I suggested  that if Morrissey was indeed writing a novel, I didn't believe that he would release it under his own name, but under a pseudonym.

Since those blog entries from November 2012, we now know from various interviews, that Morrissey has been writing a novel, and in a new interview with Alternative Nation published this week, Morrissey has stated that, "the book is with the publishers who are deciding on a date to publish. It could be tomorrow, it could be 2071. It's all in the hands of the publishing gods." Will my prediction of 2012 be right? Could the novel be quietly released under a pseudonym, with nobody knowing it is the work of Morrissey? How exciting would that be? For all we know, it may have already been released!

It should be noted that OM's original mentioning of Nicki French resulted in her version of Total Eclipse of the Heart reaching Number 9 in the Twitterdilly Arms Top 10, and me subsequently banning the playing of Nicki French songs - documented here in my blog entry of Day 440, but Nicki has a new single coming out called This Love, which regulars of The Arms are bound to want to play, so her ban is hereby lifted.

NICKI FRENCH - NO LONGER BANNED

One of those to leave comment on that blog entry of Day 440 was Marcus the Greek, who was one of the original MorrisseysWorlders and Blue Rose Society members. Myself and Marcus have had a number of ups and downs over the years, especially when he laid into Broken during Fag-gate, but I am pleased to report that today, myself and Marcus have unblocked each other on twitter, and are trying to repair our relationship! The BRS is a very small band of brothers, but Marcus is one of the few who truly belongs. Blesséd are the Greek.

I will sign off with a few more videos from New Orleans (thanks mainly to Youtube user moz85214, who incidentally was the person who brought us the blue rose Trouble Loves Me clip in Santa Ana), which, as always, looked to have been a wonderful night of entertainment.

And finally, finally, THIS:

Day 1357 - Deluded, Deluded Down We Go Together

I have said goodbye before, but this time it seems a bit more real.... at least for now! Broken appeared in The Twitterdilly Arms last week to announce, "MW iz dead", and to be honest, it has been dead for a very long time; although there has been a story of sorts to keep writing, as the various pessoas made visits to The Arms, and 'coincidences' continued to happen - and on that subject, the Morrissey Facebook page has posted videos of That's How People Grow Up and Boy Racer.

The 'active' members of the Blue Rose Society - i.e. the ones who are actually prepared to take a rose to the concerts - looks destined to remain as a group of around 10-12 in total, which is perhaps as it should be. Trying to entice people to take roses when they had no idea of the background story was never going to take off, and unfortunately (probably due to me) the BRS has a reputation of being a bunch of fruit loops - which actually isn't such a bad thing!

The one Aussie BRS member, comrade harps, took his blue rose to the Saturday  night concert in Sydney, and although he was miles away from the stage, Morrissey has recognised comrade's efforts by posting a picture of his rose on the BRS tumblr site: http://bluerosesociety.tumblr.com.

....... AND THE MAN HIMSELF (AND HIS REVIEW):

And so, for the time being at least, I shall say goodbye, but I shall keep an eye out for signs, and maybe something will happen on the upcoming US tour to bring FTM back - maybe even MorrisseysWorld will come back, although that may be a little too much to hope for. There will certainly be BRS members attending concerts in the US, and with the likes of Kyle, Father Brian, Vulgar Angie, Heather, Jaz and Jesse at some of these, perhaps something special will happen. One thing is for sure, the BRS will never die. Trouble Loves Us.
