Day 1357 - Deluded, Deluded Down We Go Together

I have said goodbye before, but this time it seems a bit more real.... at least for now! Broken appeared in The Twitterdilly Arms last week to announce, "MW iz dead", and to be honest, it has been dead for a very long time; although there has been a story of sorts to keep writing, as the various pessoas made visits to The Arms, and 'coincidences' continued to happen - and on that subject, the Morrissey Facebook page has posted videos of That's How People Grow Up and Boy Racer.

The 'active' members of the Blue Rose Society - i.e. the ones who are actually prepared to take a rose to the concerts - looks destined to remain as a group of around 10-12 in total, which is perhaps as it should be. Trying to entice people to take roses when they had no idea of the background story was never going to take off, and unfortunately (probably due to me) the BRS has a reputation of being a bunch of fruit loops - which actually isn't such a bad thing!

The one Aussie BRS member, comrade harps, took his blue rose to the Saturday  night concert in Sydney, and although he was miles away from the stage, Morrissey has recognised comrade's efforts by posting a picture of his rose on the BRS tumblr site: http://bluerosesociety.tumblr.com.

And so, for the time being at least, I shall say goodbye, but I shall keep an eye out for signs, and maybe something will happen on the upcoming US tour to bring FTM back - maybe even MorrisseysWorld will come back, although that may be a little too much to hope for. There will certainly be BRS members attending concerts in the US, and with the likes of Kyle, Father Brian, Vulgar Angie, Heather, Jaz and Jesse at some of these, perhaps something special will happen. One thing is for sure, the BRS will never die. Trouble Loves Us.

    1. Thank you. When you have people coming to a series of four Morrissey concerts from all over Australia (I met a couple Sydney airport who'd come all the way from Perth) and only 1 has a blue rose, then I'd hate to try and do the maths to work out what kind of percentage of Morrissey concert-goers the BRS is.

As I've said before, we simply don't have the critical mass. The concept was flawed from the beginning, as it was clearly too outrageously bizarre for the masses to believe. We are like conspiracy theorists, although, come to think of it, more people believe that men have never walked on the Moon than believe that Morrissey could be behind the MW/BRS phenomenon. Funnily enough, Morrissey is too credible to see through his repeated denials.

It's been a fascinating game, but one that has never really taken off and which has now petered-out, Even Morrissey seems to have realized that.

Thank you Ratty and all the other BRS-ers for doing your best to carry the torch, but the flame now appears to be out of oxygen.

    2. Because there's a greater number of believers in the US, I for one haven't extinguished all hope for the flame yet.

    3. I agree, Heather. I expect comrade is feeling a little flat because nothing 'happened' in Sydney, but with just one rose in attendance, and it being at the very back of the hall, nothing COULD have happened. As Morrissey once said on stage, "I can't fly"! The fat that Moz has added comrade's rose photo onto the BRS tumblr is his acknowledgement that comrade did his bit.

I also agree with EARS' comment below - blue rose is now part of us, and nothing can EVER change that. I could now never imagine attending a Morrissey concert without a blue rose pinned to my lapel, and attempting to get it to him.

BRS lives on - all eyez on the US and those I listed in the blog.

  4. Interviews in the pipeline, a US tour, a novel in the offing - there has to be a sign in there somewhere.
After the fireman post I fully expect to see a statement denying any connection with IG.

    1. MW was like Bucks Fizz in their 1981 prime. FTM was like Bucks Fizz in 1986 without Jay Aston. FTP is like Bobby G's Bucks Fizz in 2015, but with Bobby G's disfigured half-brother on vocals instead of Bobby! PLEASE stop!

  8. family problems have stopped me attending New Orleans, but good luck to Giselle who will try to post some pics on twitter of her three shows, including New Orleans.. I look forward to her pics

  9. It is so very sad to see some of the DDD interacting with St. Ill Moz on twatter in the belief that it is Our Mozzer. It is a VERY cheap imitation, and if people can't see that, then they are extremely blind.

For the dozen or so who may be interested, I conversed with Fifi yesterday, who is as disenchanted as me with the current clientele in the Twit Arms. Here is what she had to say:
"I am sorry (well, not really, I am never sorry) that the Twatterdilly Arms has become a very boring place. I am not enjoying my glass of Babycham as much as I used to. I don't understand what is going on and who all these people are (Orange, Derriere, St.Ill, etc.) I miss the old days. History."
Fifi also added, "Now everyone seems to speak French too. I used to be the one and only French Madame. I don't cope well with imitation. Non."

Fifi signed off by saying, "right now, it is au revoir twatterbox". Maybe one day we can re-ignite those halcyon days of 2011-13 when the Twit Arms was an exciting place to be, but unless MorrisseysWorld rises from the ashes, it is probably unlikely. As Fifi said, "history".

The good news is, a new US tour starts in just 3 days time, and it is interesting to note that the Morrissey Facebook page has now posted videos of Please Please Please, Speedway, TQID and Boxers. Are these songs going to be in the set?

And finally, the most important thing is that the BRS remains alive. Will anyone manage to get a blue rose to Morrissey, and if so, will he wear it? The world waits..... well, a dreary deluded dozen waits! I for one remain as excited as ever at the prospect of Moz wearing a blue rose - this is our story.

    1. How sad to see Mademoiselle Sir in such low spirits!

However. There is no doubt that Monsieur St.ill is indeed Sir Moz, but people are just too eager to believe what they've been told by authorities instead of opening their eyes and minds. Also, EXCUSEZ-MOI MADEMOISELLE, vous n'êtes pas la seule personne française sur cette planète. Please stop imitating my accent et langue maternelle, merci bien.

As for OM's facebook thing, he published a number of songs recently:

Boxers (with announcement of Chicago show)

The Queen Is Dead (with announcement of New York show)

      Speedway

Please, Please, Please Let Me Get What I Want

      Boy Racer

      That's How People Grow Up

The More You Ignore Me, The Closer I Get (with announcement of the US tour kicking off in New Orleans - and as predicted by Sir St.ill)

      Everyday Is Like Sunday

We'll see WHO'S a fraud when The More You Ignore Me appears on the set list!

      Je vous embrasse,

      "O"

    2. Please stop posting here about the fraud St.Ill - post it on your own blisteringly interesting blog. You are a very easily fooled fruit. OM left the building a long time ago. Goodbye.

    3. I too miss the glorious days of years past. It saddens me to learn that our beloved Fifi is downhearted. If she's leaving us, she will certainly be missed.

      Delete
    4. Fifi wasn't downhearted, just bored of the imitators and the drivel. The Twit Arms only ever worked when we original MorrisseysWorlders were in there on a daily basis, excitedly interacting with OM or Broken. Fifi and Astra brought another exciting dimension, but the imitators and crashing bores have turned our Max's Kansas City into a Wetherspoons. I live in hope that we may one day (oneday?) rekindle what we had, but somehow.....

  11. My derrière is crushed. CRUSHED! I am going to find some stinging nettles to sit on now, in all of my bareness.

I may not have been around in 2011. I also may not have been around in 2013. My memory is poor. And 2012 it goes without saying I forgot was on my calendar altogether.

But I'm sorry to say, a lot of things are very different now than they were in 2013. 1D still had Zayn, for a start. And he hadn't dyed his hair broccoli green yet. That only happened yesterday.

So you see, we're all on a fast road to hell. The only question is, who will get there first? Luckless and hapless will always remain, and stay luckless and hapless till the end. Broccoli green hair is not forever.

    But neither is unfettered happiness.

Remember me. Never forget my cheeks.

    1. Very well said that broccoli green hair is not forever, as Roy Thomas Baker no longer has green locks. It's a shame that Albert R. Broccoli never dyed his hair broccoli green, it would have been quite a statement.
