Day 1575 - A little less conversation, a little more Action, Boozey

MORRISSEY'S JACKET ON DISPLAY AT THE HARD ROCK HOTEL, LAS VEGAS (WITH JAZ'S ROSES)

After eighteen months, the final curtain has come down on the WPINOYB World Tour... although come to think about it, curtains don't actually rise and fall at concerts, only at theatrical performances.... anyway, it's over.

The final concert took place on Saturday night at The Hard Rock Hotel's, The Joint, in the playground of Sinatra and Presley, Las Vegas. The BRS were out in numbers.... four... not great numbers I grant you, but not bad for a Society that has only managed to recruit around 30 people worldwide in four years.

JAZZY - ON THE RAILS (& MERRYANNE - OFF THE RAILS... BUT NOT ON THE RACK)

Morrissey, not unsurprisingly, ignored the blue roses at the concert, but he did sing Action is My Middle Name for the first time since October's concert in Budapest; which VERY coincidentally, Kerry 'Action' Boozey-Cocktail also attended. Morrissey also sang Reader Meet Author; a track from Southpaw Grammar which, somewhat coincidentally, was requested by Boozey back in September, at the very beginning of the tour. All the Lazy Dykes was also sung for just the second time on the tour, and the two times that it has been sung; in LA & Vegas, has VERY coincidentally been with Vulgar 'Cross-armed' Angie  in attendance.

The whole set was just incredible once again, with Oboe Concerto and Presley's You'll Be Gone both  sung as well. During Oboe, Morrissey added the lyric "they were happy to go" after "which pushes me to their place in the queue", and at the end of You'll Be Gone he said,  "well, the spirit was there", which would suggest that maybe he wasn't happy with how the song went, but to me it was as good as ever. I still find it baffling that Elvis didn't write more of his own songs, this song really is as good as any other The King recorded.

Jack The Ripper was also in the set once again, and how I dearly wish that I had had the opportunity to witness it live on this tour.

I must also make mention that Morrissey placed a red rose onto the drum kit during the Vegas concert. I have no idea who took the roses, but the word is spreading.

RED ROSES IN LAS VEGAS 2016

The three concerts of the past week really have been something rather special, and a fantastic way for Morrissey and his excellent band to sign off. I must make mention of the fact that the security man that MerryAnne met in LA was NOT Donnie Knutson, so perhaps that photo taken by Donnie The Don was posted on TTY to show us that he was at the back of the theatre, and not at the front.

True-To-You has today posted a list of all the concerts played on the World Peace is None of Your Business Tour - 101 concerts in 36 countries over the past eighteen months. Hundreds of thousands of fans have been to see Morrissey on the tour. There can now be no doubt in anybody's mind that Steve Barnett and Harvest Records fucked-up BIG TIME.

So, big man, what now? Will Morrissey return to The Loveless Go-Go bar, or is that journey over too? In my last blog entry I wrote that he may have returned in the form of @MundaneGlamour, but the owner of that account beckoned me into the toilets of The Loveless on Sunday to assure me that she(?) isn't a Morrissey pessoa, so I shall take her at her word, and won't therefore be reporting her every tweet here.... mind you, she has already tweeted some gems:

"Grey can sometimes be glamorous but never on people."

"Sometimes I question the meaning of life but then I look at my silk socks and it all becomes clear"

"Conventional beauty does nothing for me"

"My style is not actually style. More a unique throwing together of dead people's ideas"

"I am forever enthralled by the faded glamour of the British coastal towns. Old Victorian buildings and people victorious in mundaneness"

"I find glamour in death but not in life. This makes me emotionally sensitive. Apparently..."

Whoever MundaneGlamour may be, they certainly give a good impression of being very Morrissey-esque, although I honestly do believe that it isn't Morrissey, after all, what sort of person would be tweeting about the faded glamour of British coastal towns at 4 o'clock in the morning? (West Coast America time)

  6. Many congrats to Moz and the band for a spectacular tour. I hope they have plenty of time now for some well-deserved rest and relaxation. It's been lovely to see so many roses on this tour - I actually find it quite amusing that Moz accepted the red rose instead of a blue one. Lastly, I really love that shirt!

  7. Well let's see where should I begin

This pass weekend has been full of wonderful experiences.

I arrived in Vegas around noon on Friday
Checked into my hotel and freshen up
Then I made my way to the hard rock to check out the
    queue.
Since the hard rock didn't allow queueing what we did was make a list and check in every few hours.
If you didn't check in when we did roll call then you would be cut.
Some time passed and one of my friends asked me to meet her at the hard rock registration
So I did go meet her.
When I arrived I noticed a large group of people with a lot of luggage.
I noticed Jesse Tabias walk pass me so I said " Hi Jesse" replied back "hi"
Then Boz passed me and I said "hello Boz" and he said hello back
Then I saw Gustavo and said Hey Gustavo and he replied with Hey Ang and he came to hug me.
We chatted for a bit then Matt walker walked up to us and started to talk to my friend Evan ( He was beyond star struck).
And they all went their own ways into the hotel.
I was informed that the boss (Morrissey )wasn't around
I didn't even ask if he was or wasn't.
But more time passed Boz and Jesse were at the bar in the center of the Hard rock.
So my friends and I made our way over to try to talk to them.
I told my Sarah that I was going to go and buy JT a shot of patron.
As I made my way to him she wished me luck.
I honestly had no idea what I was doing. In away I was somewhat nervous to approach him due to my pass experience with him.
I went up to him with a shot in my and and he looked at me and asked "What do you got there" I told him Patron he replied "tequila huh" I told him " I bought you this shot cause I wanted to say thank you and show you that I appreciate everything you have done in this band. He accepted it and drank it
He said what's your name Ang
And I replied Angie (I swear he already knew my name)
we had a few conversations then I went back to my group.
5 minutes passed and my friends said lets go take shots with Jesse.
So I bought him another shot and made our way to him.
We asked if we could take a shots with him and he said yes then No
But he took it with us and we had another conversation and he went to bed.
(The picture of myself with Jesse was taken that night with me wearing the Moz for Prez shirt)

Roll call for queueing Saturday 6am and I was made list master
    Then again at 10am
Then finally 4:30pm when we were actually able to line up.
We revived wrist band from Moz Security and 60 of us were able to go in with VIP ticket holders of the venue.

    1. We ended up on Jesse's side of the stage.
I noticed him writing the set list.
I yelled for him and he winked and smiled.

      Moz takes the stage
      Blue Roses stage right
      Blue rose stage center
      And lots more stage left

Someone tossed a red rose on stage and he placed it near the drum kit

Not sure what song it was but he made a O sign ( I want to say crashing bores (but I could be mistaken))

My friend Evan handed Morrissey a Kill Uncle vinyl and he signed it on stage.

This show had to be in my top 5 of Moz shows

After the craziness of the show

Jaz, myself and some friends went to eat.
My friend Evan should us his record. He had all band members sign it all he needed was Boz to sign it.
I turned and looked at the bar and Boz was there.
He went to the Bar be got it signed.
After we were all finished eatting we made our way to the bar.
I saw Jesse and I made my way to him.
He saw me and said there she is the legend!
We started to talk and I offered to buy him a drink but he declined he had a early flight.
My friends and I were going back and forth talking to both Boz and Jesse.

So the night was almost over and I was on my final conversation with Jesse.
We were talking about Punk Music and Skateboarding and I took my Blue Rose Society Pin off my Moz Keew Shirt and told him that I wanted him to have this to remember me by and I open my hand.
      And showed him the pin.
He looked down and saw it then I told him.
"You know Kyel from the east coast don't you" and he shock his head yes and took it from my hand and put it in his pocket.
He told me that he told M about me and the night before
He told M " The biggest Badest looking woman in the bar gave me 2 shots of Parton and gave me a look like you better drink them mother fucker or else"

When he told me that I couldn't believe it
      I was shocked
I told my friend Angie what he said and she said its true the way I retold the story he told her.

JT has to be one of the most amazing people I have ever met
And I do hope to hang out with him in the future.
If I do hang out with him again maybe he will have M with him.

But that's all I could say about Vegas
      For now

      It was a perfect show
      With a great set

A great way to end a tour

I do hope that all the lads have a great rest
Before M decides to want to tour again

    5. Loved your review Ang. I commend your work on the list - with such a big list and the circumstances of us not being able to queue continuously. Very good memory: the "O" sign was during Crashing Bores (one of my absolute favourites!). 8. Thanks Rat

Manc lad thank you sir. It was insane by 10am I had 100 people on the queueing list. And Myself and others keep it all in order. The Job as list master is extreme stressful but at the end is very well worth it to know that the people on your list made it in ok.
People do not queue for hours or over night
    They do it for days.
I would like to apologize to you for that idiot who ever he was that disrespect you at the staple center.
Wow he must have been very ignorant for getting worked up over a peta shirt!
Hopefully next show we do get to hang out.

But please keep in mind if all goes well for me
I will be visiting the U.K sometime this year

I will see you in far off places

Heather Cat it was an amazing experience.

  9. Thanks for great list again, Mr Ratty, I see Elvis is on it, which is very appropriate as his birthday is this week. I noticed you included Frank Sinatra on the chart during his birthday month. In the states, several different TV channels honored Sinatra with specials and his films during December, which, if still alive, he would have been 100. I did not realize how many films he had been in. It surprised the kids here, his age that is. What also really surprised them was when I explained to them that with Frank, my mother was just a little tyke when he began. Of course, I vaguely remember how 18 once seemed old to me. Thanks also to Vulgar1 for the great review, it was one of the best we've had on FTM. For some of us it is as close as we will get to a Moz concert. The description of what was going on and your feelings was very vivid. I am extremely happy that OM had such a good tour (and healthy) it is fun for us fans, BRS member or not, to be able to follow along thanks to those who give up some their time to write about it. Hope all have a great New Year!

  10. Isn’t it funny how more than one of us girls look so very similar, sometimes, to one another around here? One girl’s delectation is another girl’s … reflection in the mirror. But you must remember, reflections will never tell the secrets they store. Deaf, mute, untouchable beauty. Then suddenly, one quick step to the side, and none of any of it was ever even there at all.

I’m not usually in the habit of ever leaving comments here so I thought to myself; I’m not about to start now.

Except that I shall. Because I’m NOTHING, if not the exception to EVERY single rule, that any of you have ever known.

I received a message by carrier pigeon earlier. It was written in Morse code. It was from Astra, and it said in sharp staccato little clicks and lights that they “seem to have closed her mothercunting account.” She always did march to the beat of her own heartbeat.

The second part of the message was en Francais. That part said something about how she had an incident very recently where her driver appeared to be indisposed, in some manner or another, fallen by this wayside or that. Or possibly even another.

Apparently she somehow had to call an Uber for the first (and I would imagine the last) time in her life, and was by her French kiss of a whisper of the account, picked up instead by an ex-professional fighter… in a Tesla.

The third part of the message was conveyed neither by clicks, lights, dots, dashes, nor en Francais, and that part said that she’s just in the last two weeks entered into a completely unexpected and equally beguiling middle of the night correspondence of sorts, with an ex-principal dancer of the San Francisco Ballet – who apparently has the eyes of a snow leopard and the countenance of a panther about to pounce – whether on her or not is the part that remains to be seen, but I can already see where this is going.

So she is now currently deciding whether to allow this person the unspeakably exquisite delights of entwining their legs with hers – as she understands that these might be the cards that have been dealt. What’s an extra flight here or there. A dab hand at blackjack, an old hand at poker, a smile and a flash, and with every wink she never gave you, I’m sure the rest will forever remain untold.

In other, slightly less pressing news, - if anyone has a spare melon baller, I do think I’d quite easily succumb to some sweet, tender, wet, honeydew tomorrow. Quite easily, indeed.

Astra may or may not be back, before time’s tide smothers us all – but from the carrier pigeon message, I wouldn’t put any money on it. She was never anything if not the most ephemeral wisp of a nothing that never was.

As for me, it remains to be seen if my derriere, well… will remain to be seen. But I am equally as unlikely as your next unlikeliest anything, … so here I am again, here I go again. And here I’m gone again.

If not here, I will see you all sometime.
    I will see you somewhere.

And in the eternal midnight of my pulsating heart, I will drown in my luxe ecstasy – alone.

On the dance floor I will be. On the dance floor, one day, you will find me.

I’ll always be in the one in the middle. I’ll be the one under the spotlight. And when the clock strikes midnight - save me. I’ll be the one with my emerald eyes closed.

May the Almighty God in Heaven above help the wanton, the willing, and the wanting.

Everyone else can fend for themselves.

    Goodbye

    1. Thanks so much for the update on Astra. I'll miss her terribly and I wish her all the best. It's funny indeed how you two seem to resemble each other. Incidentally, I do have a spare melon baller if you'd like to borrow it.

    2. I must agree with Heather that Not Astra's writing style seems to resemble our lovely Star Maiden's wonderful prose. I think there are many clues, allusions and alliterations here for us to ponder. Unfortunately, I fear I may be too tone deaf to understand all that was written. I too miss the lovely Astraea. I do have this feeling she does keep an eye on what is going on in this world while living life in her's. (Even if she isn't here, she really is) And no matter what, there will always be a place in my heart for our enchanting Star Maiden.
