Day 2304 - Six years of FTM.

On August 8th 2011 I attended a Morrissey concert at the London Palladium. Morrissey entered the stage and said, "Welcome to my world". I didn't think much of it at the time, but those four words would end up completely changing the next six years of my life. Read on...

On September 14th 2011 the website True-To-You.net published a statement from Morrissey which read:

"Morrissey would like to stress that he has absolutely no affiliation with the site called Morrisseysworld, and that the views expressed on Morrisseysworld blog and Twitter page are not Morrissey's views, and do not come from Morrissey. Morrissey has no connection with this site. Please beware."

On September 15th 2011 I read the aforementioned TTY statement of Sept 14th. I had never heard of MorrisseysWorld before, but the denial intrigued me. I took a look at the Morrisseysworld blogsite and found it to be hilarious. One particular entry on the blog caught my attention, and not just because it was funny. The entry from August 3rd 2011 had Morrissey and Boz discussing the posting of a review by BBoorer on the IMDB website for Justin Bieber's Never Say Never live DVD - a film which has Justin entering the stage saying, "Welcome to my world". Now, there are coincidences and there are coincidences, but surely it couldn't have been a coincidence that five days after that MW blog entry, Morrissey had quoted those very same words right in front of me? I smelt a rat!

I googled MorrisseysWorld and found a blogsite called MorrisseysWorldIsMoz, which was claiming that despite the TTY denial - and a previous TTY denial - MorrisseysWorld WAS the work of Morrissey. There was lots of evidence on the MorrisseysWorldIsMoz site, and I was left in no doubt that it HAD to be Morrissey behind MorrisseysWorld.... well, perhaps I did have some doubt, but only because it all seemed so incredibly unlikely, after all, Morrissey would NEVER do such a thing... would he?

There was a MorrisseysWorld twitter account associated to the blog, so I started to follow it.

On September 22nd 2011 Morrissey interacted with me on twitter for the first time. Over the course of the next few days, I exchanged a number of tweets with Morrissey - it all seemed very surreal, and incredibly exciting.

On September 27th 2011, as a means of documenting my excitement at finding Morrissey blogging and tweeting away on the internet whilst the masses failed to notice, I started writing this Following The Mozziah blog. No one knew about my blog, I was just writing it for myself.

Today marks the sixth anniversary of me starting FollowingtheMozziah.blogspot.com, and the excitement that I felt back on Sept 27th 2011 still remains. It is no longer just me writing for myself - FTM has morphed into a little commune, where others leave their thoughts and opinions in the comments section. Morrissey himself is very much involved, and at times I have to be mindful of the things that I write.... although sometimes I'm not mindful enough, and end up receiving the wrath of The Mozziah.

The most incredible thing about this six year journey is that neither the media nor the masses of Morrissey fans have realised what is happening. The reason is because Morrissey has always stayed one step ahead, continually closing down accounts, and then starting again with new ones. We've also managed to stay under the radar because no one involved has contacted the media with the story - we are a happy little band of outsiders.

It could have all been so different. MorrisseysWorld was nearly exposed as being the work of Morrissey before I had even discovered it. Kitty Empire of The Guardian was at that Palladium concert in August 2011, and she also knew of MorrisseysWorld. She wrote an article in August 2011 mentioning MorrisseysWorld; even referencing the Bieber quote at the Palladium, but the fans who post on Morrissey-solo.com dismissed the whole thing as the work of a hoaxer, and the case was closed.

The pages of FTM hold so much evidence that would prove beyond all reasonable doubt to any layman that Morrissey is indeed the person behind MorrisseysWorld and the various other off-shoots, but not many people have bothered to look. It really is a fascinating story.

I haven't even made mention of the Blue Rose Society, but I covered that pretty well on this very day last year - FTM Day 1939. Morrissey has accepted a blue rose in every calendar year since 2012. All eyes will be on the upcoming USA tour to see if he accepts one in 2017.

The journey continues...

NOVEMBER 29TH 2011 - MORRISSEY MAKES AN 'OO' SIGN WHILST ON THE CONAN TV SHOW, JUST A FEW WEEKS AFTER THE MORRISSEYSWORLD BLOG HAD POSTED A COLLAGE OF FAMOUS PEOPLE MAKING THE SAME SIGN.... STILL NOBODY WOULD BELIEVE.

  7. Thank you gang for all your Portland help. Didn't work same problem called at 9:58am horrible seats their online site down for 1 1/2 hr. Not using Ticketmaster has truly been a comedic adventure so far. Never have I had problems getting tickets. You guys are amazing !

As you also know, I was only looking for old photos from 2015 show when somehow I came across this blog. My stomach hurt from laughing . The connection between R and M appeared seamless and so I continued reading ,until I completed over 5 years of blogs . Plus whatever other MW were available to me. My god did it take forever !
You all have been so kind and tolerant to my social media learning, I really do appreciate it. What attracted me most to this group is how intelligent and thoughtful you are to one another , even with the teasing. As for the ride, you all have a very special bond and memories to go along.
Rat you already know how much I appreciate what you do and it's made a change to my life. We all know M is an amazing artist, but the pessoas, now that is genius. Happy 6th year! My hope : it never ends , I figure out all the nicknames, I find out where you all live /cities (not stalker like )and that maybe someday get to meet. My vote is this blog has to continue at least until Trump kills America...
